4th Wave of the Pandemic

September 16, 2021

Dear good and 'very patient' parishioners of St. Mary's Parish,

Yes, our patience with this 'not-going-away-soon' pandemic is being severely tested. It is difficult to believe that this Covid-19 journey began way back in the middle of March 2019 - a year and a half ago. And this fourth wave of the pandemic is beginning to feel more like a tsunami!

You are now well-aware of the fact that the Provincial government has once again declared a state of public emergency. To that effect I would like to announce a few changes here at St. Mary's Parish.

  1. Because capacity at all the Masses is limited to one-third of fire code, the weekday Masses will be celebrated in the main worship area and the NOON SUNDAY MASS WILL BE REINSTATED STARTING THIS COMING SUNDAY (September 19th) to accommodate those who wish to come to Sunday Mass. Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament remains in the Day Chapel.

  2. Everyone has to be masked at all times, and individuals and households need to be socially distanced (2 meters) at Mass.

Some people have asked if online and phone pre-registration for Masses will be reintroduced. The answer to this question is NO, NOT AT THIS TIME.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to email me or call the parish office and we will do our best to provide you with answers.

Peace and all good,

Fr. Dennis, ofm
